The statement of Satan trying to manipulate the "divine creation" mentioned in verse 119 of Surah An-Nisa has led commentators of different eras to reflect on the nature and examples of this change. The present study seeks to answer the question of how commentators of different periods faced the concept of "changing the divine creation" and the factors affecting their approach? Thus, with the assumption that interpretive approaches are influenced by the historical, social, and epistemological contexts of their era, historical developments and commentators' views on the change of creation were studied in parallel. The research method is descriptive-analytical and based on library studies that examined 70 commentaries from the first century to the present. Data analysis shows that political, cultural, social developments and scientific advances are directly related to the expansion of the scope of examples of "change in creation" in interpretations, and the closer the interpretations have become to contemporary times, the more general and comprehensive examples and criteria have been mentioned. Thus, today, many cultural anomalies, the prevalence of Western lifestyles, the misuse of scientific advances, moral deviations, unusual surgeries, behavioral and appearance changes contrary to the purpose of life and the system of creation, etc., which some scholars interpret with the term modern ignorance, have been mentioned by contemporary interpreters. This approach has placed the aforementioned verse in a privileged position to respond to new issues of human society.
