The Sermon on the Creation, as one of the most important sermons of Imam Ali (AS) in Nahj al-Balagha, has always been of interest to researchers. This study examines the effectiveness of the Sermon on the Creation from the Holy Quran with an intertextual approach. Most previous studies have focused on its aesthetic and linguistic aspects, without systematically analyzing its situational context and deep connection with the Holy Quran. This study aims to explain how and to what extent the Sermon on the Creation is effective, and seeks to present the dimensions of intertextuality. The research method is explanatory-analytical, which uses Gerard Genette's intertextuality theory to examine the intertextual relationships between the Sermon on the Creation (the existing text) and the Holy Quran (the hidden text). The data were analyzed at the level of "lexical intertextuality" and "content and structural intertextuality". The research findings show that the Sermon on the Creation is a direct reflection of Quranic verses at the lexical level. At the structural level, some passages are adapted without change, while others are presented with some changes. On the other hand, content intertextuality is especially evident in monotheistic themes and divine descriptions. This intertextuality has a special place because the spirit and content of the Holy Quran are manifested throughout the sermon. The results of the research emphasize the inseparable connection between Nahj al-Balagha and the Holy Quran and show that the Sermon on the Creation pursues the same guiding goals of the divine book with a coherent and artistic expression. This study also introduces the intertextuality method as an efficient tool for analyzing the relationships between religious texts.
