Examining Quranic keywords from an educational perspective is an approach that can provide understanding and inference of the foundations and principles of education. The keyword "Khusran" (loss) is one of the most frequently recurring terms in the Quran, and explaining its pattern of usage in the Quran and understanding the meanings associated with the verses in which this keyword appears can pave the way for the derivation of principles of religious education. In this regard, the present study intends to provide an educational commentary on the word "Khusran" in the Quran to derive the aforementioned principles. To achieve this purpose, and due to the multifaceted nature of this article, the research method is a combination of descriptive phenomenological stages in the stage of referencing Quranic verses, analysis and coding of data according to the grounded theory strategy with MAXQDA software in three parts: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding, and qualitative content analysis in an inductive manner in the field of educational implications. The results of the research indicate that the theoretical model of the term "loss" can be divided into five categories: factors of loss, immunity from loss, matters susceptible to loss, degrees of loss, and material losses. Furthermore, six educational principles can be extracted from this theoretical and conceptual model for religious education, which include the following: the necessity of raising awareness of the fatalism inherent in "Khusran," the necessity of confronting losses, the necessity of ranking when facing losses, the necessity of paying attention to false illusions in "Khusran," the necessity of paying attention to the element of compliance and influence in "Khusran," and the necessity of a dual perspective on "Khusran."
