The political views of Israr Ahmed reflect three streams of thoughts emanating from Azad, Iqbal, and Maududi. The impact of these ideas realized through time under some political and social conditions. What matters most is introduce this intellectual development in a historical context as well as explain his political views. Ahmed was at first following Azad regarding a return to Quran and also Iqbal concerning an intellectual reform based on a historical-analytic method. To do so, he established Markazi Anjuman for Khuddam-ul-Quran in 1972 and publicized it in his writings. Next, the effects of revolutionary thoughts of Maududi and reforming views of Iqbal manifested themselves in his views. He then established Tanzeem-e-Islami in 1975 and Tahreek-al-Khilafah in 1991, returning to Azad’s views and also Maududi’s Islamic Revolution in order to realize an overarching revolution as well as the system caliphate. The last stage in his political theory was composed traditional Sunni views on the system caliphate and modern western government with such basic elements as the belief in dhimmis, limiting the role of women merely to choosing, electing the Caliph from the public for a limited period, ijtihad, jihad for promotion, etc.
